#22 - Hooters Loot Goes to Worthy Charity!

Imagine: Ed Boks couldn't SPELL "addopt" for the Hooters' poster.

That's another reason why the Hooters Loot is safer in the hands of a well-respected, private charity. The government is no place for misogynistic misspellers.

Since Boks can't even be trusted to run a spellcheck, we are thrilled that a well respected PRIVATE charity,
The Amanda Foundation, is going to be given the proceeds of the Hooters event, and has it earmarked for spay & neuter.

In their hands,
the Hooters loot won't go for Boks' office furniture fund, as depicted in this cartoon. (Yes, the man with the blood-dripped money looks exactly like Boks)

Nothing, including animals' lives, are safe in Boks' hands.

Killing animals, for lack of creativity to find them homes, is NOT "euthanasia."

But that's what Boks calls it.

Odd, how he won't allow an audit to find out what the REAL kill rate is.

#21 - Boks a "boob" in major U.S. newspapers

The Ed Boks - Hooters Fiasco is now written about in 63+ U.S. newspapers.

The FULL STORY is in the LA Times. Click HERE.

The Associated Press version is in the Washington Post. Click HERE.

It's also in the Boston Globe. Click HERE and on Fox News.com. Click HERE.

It's in the New York Times....it's....it's everywhere!

--------

On the heels of Mayor Daniel's op-ed in the Los Angeles Daily News, this fiasco is only surpassed in stupidity by Boks issuing a statement that
"Mayor Villaraigosa knew nothing of this event."

Funny, since Mayor Daniel issued MUCHO warnings to Jim Bickhart, the self-described Villaraigosa "mouthpiece."

Bickhart sat in on Monday's Commission meeting, heard the complaints about the event, and did JACK about it. His presence, and refusal to act, was Villaraigosa's implicit approval of the event.

The City is now distancing itself from Hooters, Boks and, presumably, Bickhart.

#20 - Boks' Missing Bikini Poster

Last night, Mayor Daniel wrote about an event that Ed Boks was conducting on behalf of the City of Los Angeles.

We didn't publish this poster because we gave Boks a chance to scramble to alter it.

Sure enough, Boks had "somebody" working late, late on Sunday night, swapping the bikini girl's pic for a dog in a t-shirt.

Funny, the City's timecards won't show that a paid employee was working on the site at that hour.

-----

Regardless of where this event is held, it's HIGHLY inappropriate for a city government event.

This matter was reported to junior mayor, Jim Bigfart, and he has failed to respond.

As the Mayor's self-described "mouthpiece," Bigfart has implicitly approved this poster for the Mayor of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles City Council.

#19 - Boks' Bikini Bash

Another amazingly stupid Ed Boks idea: changing a fundraiser poster while all of City Council is watching.

Boks tried to make it disappear overnight, but got caught with his panties down.

What shelter GM can't even spell "addopt"????

#18 - Boks' Choice: Puke Green & Turquoise

Just when you think Ed Boks can't make another stupid move...

He makes another stupid move.

Like unilaterally choosing this amazingly bad logo:

-----

Hey Ed: not all animals live in a DOG HOUSE!

-----

This
PUKE GREEN and TURQUOISE mess was on the City's website earlier this week, but was quickly removed.

-----

This does not convey "LA" or "humane."

Even the words at the bottom are off-center.

As is Boks.

Can't wait to see the looks of disappointment on the faces of Mayor Villaraigosa, City Councilmembers, Rescuers, Employees and Commissioners.

#17 - NY Times on Boks Failures

Share this with anyone who thinks Ed Boks is the right guy for LA. The NY Times says he was a failure in NY.

The link is below.

Copies will be provided to all members of Los Angeles City Council.

There is also a financial audit that will soon be released. Now you know why Boks was fired from New York 5 votes to 0.

#16 - Boks' Exposes Employee Privacy to Cyberstalker

Ed Boks is in a heap of trouble.

On Friday, Boks posted on a cyberstalker's blog, an
email that Mayor Daniel sent to him, containing private personnel information that was to only be addressed with his H.R. director and the Commissioners.

The letter praised one of the few stars in Boks' department, and expressed frustration that "the great ones" are held down and punished for being great.

Within hours, the email was on the cyberstalker's blog.

The only other recipients of the email were Jim Bigfart of the Mayor's office, the Commissioners, and Villaraigosa's deputy chief of staff.

Boks once again is backed into a corner.

Forthcoming: a screenshot of the 'blog, and a letter to Ethics, Personnel and the employees union urging them to ask Boks why he is sharing
private personnel matters with anyone, let alone a cyberstalker.

#15 - Boks Behind the Curve

The County of Los Angeles shelters, with a grant from a terrific private charity, just launched a superb microchip program. Excellent! Read about it from the Antelope Valley Press.

Ed Boks, troubled GM of the City shelters has no such program, and no firm plans to launch a similar program in a month...or two...or three.

Or four.

Boks must at some point start being at least as good as other shelter systems in the region; even the really troubled systems like County. Boks is far behind the curve while claiming on the City's website that he's a leader with solutions. Right now, he ain't got none.

#14 - PHOTOS: Boks Ignores Shelter Trespassing

Months ago, Mayor Daniel warned Ed Boks about trespassing problems at the E. Valley Shelter. The problems still exist, and we continue to document them.

Problem #1 - The adjacent auto repair shops are using the E. Valley shelter parking lot to store their customers cars. Here is a photo of a mechanic jumping the fence between the parking lots.

Problem #2 - A man is selling auto parts in his truck, while parked in the E. Valley parking lot.

Mayor Daniel & Co. will continue to document these problems, at any shelter, and share them with the Public Safety Committee of City Council.
